VietHealth operates under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) and was established under Decision No. 1491, dated October 24, 2008. The Centre is an independent legal entity and operates on a voluntary and autonomous basis.

VietHealth/LDSC Vietnam
Pilot intervention on disability treatment in northern Vietnam by piloting a model for the establishment of a sustainable high quality rehabilitation clinic in Ha Noi.
Expected results will be as follows:
- The number of disabled children under 15 years of age in Hanoi City and the surrounding area who are treated for the disability rehabilitation will be increased
- Capacity needs of rehabilitation technicians and collaborators’ VietHealth are upgraded;
- The clinic is sustainable 24 months after operations begin
- Effective co-ordination of the healthcare referral network and increased capacity of local healthcare facilities
- Reduction of the burden that disabilities have within communities.
Grant for basic set-up cost is US$27,000
Project lifespan is 1year from December 2009 to November 2010.
VietHealth/ Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission (FELM)
VietHealth is currently working under FELM’s grant on implementing a project for Piloting a model for building capacity in early childhood disability identification and prevention for village health workers and commune health workers in Phu Tho Province. The pilot aims to develop a training model of early childhood disability prevention and IEC programme for VHWs and CHWs in Phu Tho Province. (more…)

Project proposals
Viethealth aims to reduce the effects of disabilities in rural areas through early detection and intervention for both children and high risk groups. We hope to prevent disability by increasing the capability of local medical staff to carry out more effective treatment and rehabilitation along with education through mass media.
